| Here is something you need to know. Just because you see a sign that says... "WE FINANCE" "EVERYBODY APPROVED" "NOBODY TURNED DOWN" "BUY HERE PAY HERE" That does not mean you have found an answer to prayer. These ads & sign are not signs from above. In fact they could be the very opposite. Though they are not all bad, they are not all good either. Trust me, I have been on both sides of the tracks. You as a buyer in need of the service need to evaluate carefully the source. I have seen many go from bad to worse dealing with what I call 'The Elements' We as salespeople need to re evaluate the deals we structure as well as you the customer. All of our futures depend on it. I know, most of us only care about the day at hand. We must continue to live today while planning for tomorrow. When Obama said that Change was coming, he was right. The thing about that is this... The changes did not mean good for everybody. In order to make an omelette you have to break a few eggs right? If I decide one of my children is to have less chores, one of them is going to have more. Financing in 2009 & beyond will be much the same. Some will benefit from the changes, some won't. Why the change? Many in the lending business got smoked (squeezed out of business) & as a result they no longer have money to lend because the money they loaned did not get paid back. Those that do have it are scared to lend it. WHY? Many in the lending biz'ness granted loans to the unworthy. As a result... Financing is changing. Last years 700 is this years 600. Last years 600 is this years 500. If you ever tried to borrow money with a '5' in front of your credit score... Probably all anybody gave you was explanations & apologies. That is how it's gonna be for awhile unless you know where to turn. Unless your score is in the high six's or better, you might want to re-think your automotive buying strategy...
