WELCOME TO TIPS & TRICKS
this months trick is titled
PATIENCE
September 2008

I have been driving for 27 years.  Where does the time go?  Outside of my very first car which I drove hard and put away wet
(only because I did not pay for it), I have never put a transmission or a motor in any car I have owned.  Just to substantiate,
I have had over twenty cars most of which last well beyond the one hundred thousand mile marker.  Some of them were
nice, some of them were not so nice but never have I had to put a motor or a transmission in any of them.  Let me also add
that I have lived most of my adult life in the mountainous city of Pittsburgh. Do you want to know why I think that is?
Patience.

Almost always, I let my car warm up be it hot or cold outside.  Once it is warm and I am ready to drive off, I let it rest into
gear before I put my foot on the accelerator to pull out.  I let it rest into gear when I am about to back up & I always use my
emergency brake when I park on a slant.  I never slam it in gear and get on the gas before it can lock into position.  Some
people do and then wonder why when they put it in gear it won’t go.  You have to be patient.  Actually you don’t but when
you step on the gas and your car don’t go, you will wish you were.  Be patient.

Happy motoring; see you next month.  Leon The Link
