WELCOME TO TIPS & TRICKS
this months trick is called
RESTORE
December 2007
These are trades no so secrets that I have picked up over the years as a result of twenty plus years in the car business.  I
have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of response I got from the first release so I have decided to
continue.  Hopefully you will find this one just as helpful as the first...

Anyway, this month’s T-N-T is titled RESTORE.  This may not apply to all of you because I know many of you drive late model
cars, some of which are high end Cadillac’s & Bentley which you hopefully got from me.  Some of us on the other hand drive
older cars with higher miles (like me).  This month’s tip is for the latter.

We have four cars at our house all of which have over or near a hundred thousand miles on them and I would bet a dime to
a dollar that three of those four engines run just as good now as the next guys 2007 model car.  Why?  Stay with me a
minute and I will tell you.

First let me say that the days of a cars being worn out at the six digit mile marker are a thing of the past.  With the average
used car ranging in the neighborhood of fifteen thousand dollars, many of us can not afford to trade and upgrade every
couple of years as we might like to due to college tuition and double (in some case triple) mortgages.  So we need to get as
much from our vehicle as we can for as long as possible.  If this is you, I have a suggestion.

Several years ago, a mechanical technician shared this with me, I tried it and have been using it ever since.  I personally
think it is the best thing to come down the pike pneumatic tires.  It is a product called Restore.  There are many other
products on the market just like it that do the same thing however
Restore is by far my favorite.  I have used it in multiple
beaters over the years and gotten excellent response.  It is an amazing solution, almost magical.  As cars age, they wear out
the engines cylinder walls, the rings get loose and compression dips.  As these things dissipate, so does your horsepower
and your fuel economy.  The kick your car once had when pulling through an intersection or up the on ramp is now preceded
by an unnerving hesitation.  Wanna get rid of it?  Dump a can of restore in with your next oil change.  In less than 500 miles I
will bet you will feel a difference.  It comes in three sizes, a small can for 4 cylinder engines, medium size for 6 cylinder
engines and the tall can for V8's.  Argh Argh Argh!  That is the one I use.

I first tried it in a car that I was told needed an engine.  It was an old car not worth an engine so my option was to junk it.
My buddy said, “Before you junk it, try
RESTORE.”  I did.  I drove the car two years after that adding restore with every oil
change.  By the way, I do not work for RESTORE, nor are they paying me for this promo.  I just want to help you.

One more thing; it is getting cold now.  It would not hurt to dump a can of gas line anti freeze in your tank with your next fill
up to absorb the water which has been accumulating in the tank.  During warmer weather is usually not a problem as it
settles to the bottom of the tank.  Now that it is getting cold, (enough of it) could block your lines or
explode your fuel pump.
Better safe than sorry.  Do it now before the temp dips too low and all your car wants to is crank because either your line is
frozen or your plugs are wet.  Happy motoring; see you next month.
